GLORY in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan!

    Greetings to you in the wonderful name of the Lord Jesus. Pastor Rick Smail from Philadelphia, my son Matt, and I have just returned this past week from some amazing meetings in Karachi, Pakistan. This was our second trip to Pakistan in as many years. But this time, there is urgency in the nation. The future of Pakistan is very uncertain at this point, because radical Islam is on the increase.  I felt in my heart near the end of 2008 that we were to go in May so we planned accordingly, but we had no idea that war would break out only days before we arrived.

The rented facility for the morning meetings had a seating capacity of about 700. It was full at every meeting!  We plan on renting a bigger place next time! The mayor of the city attended the first service, and she was very gracious. The evening meetings were held outdoors in a crowded residential area of the city, and there was room only for about 500-600. It was packed at night with people standing outside and looking down from above from surrounding rooftops.
    The presence of God was awesome. The anointing was like fire!  We have always let God keep the records, but we estimate there were approximately 500 people saved. There were many, many healings. One of the most amazing things we saw was the manifestation of demonic spirits in all the nightly meetings. People would fall to the ground screaming and rolling with their hands over their ears when touched by the power of God for deliverance
     Saturday night's meeting was totally unlike anything we’ve ever done before! I had felt a very strong mandate from the Holy Spirit in my heart to speak on something similar to what God called Ezekiel to prophesy in the valley of dry bones. (Ezekiel 37) We read the scripture publicly and as we did, the Holy Spirit powerfully stirred my heart to begin prophesying to the people that within 6 months, 3 things would begin to happen in the city of Karachi and in Pakistan. First, there would be a surge in the presence of God that would breathe life again into the broken, dry, persecuted, and discouraged Church of Pakistan. Secondly, that God will send people from Africa and China who would bring a new anointing for revival. Third, the work that God would do would be done quickly. God had given us a word that night that was resonating within. It was Isaiah 51:16.

 “I have put My words in your mouth and covered you with the shadow of My hand, that I MAY PLANT THE HEAVENS and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, “You are My people.”

      As I shared that night, there was a powerful sense of the Lord's presence. But at the end, I literally heard myself saying something like, "And the glory of the Lord shall come and the life of God shall fill what has been broken and left for dead and it shall come back to life and stand strong that this nation may see a great harvest come forth from darkness into light." At that very moment, there was an eruption of gunfire very near to where we were meeting. It was like the forces of darkness reacted by making their intent known to oppose what God has just said! Pastor Rick Smail came to the microphone and prepared to preach. He instructed everyone to turn to the Book of Matthew. Everyone there heard him say to turn to Matthew. Yet I clearly heard him say "Turn to John 14:29.” In that moment, I read these words,

"And now I have told you before it comes THAT WHEN IT DOES COME TO PASS, you may believe."

     The Holy Spirit confirmed the word He had just given.  I know in my heart that God is going to multiply the revelation of His glory in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the days ahead. I heard from one of the leaders there TODAY that the government had just issued a permanent deed to new property for their church, something that had not happened before in Karachi in almost 40 years! God has already begun bringing a shift! TO GOD ALONE BE ALL THE GLORY, ALL THE HONOR, AND ALL THE PRAISE for everything that He did in the Pakistan meetings!
